Elgee Park Winery Labyrinth
Elgee Park Winery Labyrinth opened in 2015 (on world labyrinth day by the Governor of Victoria, Alex Chirnov ,and was dedicated to those of the Mornington Peninsula who served in WW1 and to the Boonwurrung people whose land the labyrinth is found. An inlaid wattle seating mosaic pays homage to those who have fallen via the symbol of the wattle. The site was chosen in one day and took 6 months to build. Students who helped make the wattle from Red Hill Primary school cartwheeled all the way into the centre of the labyrinth which must be a world labyrinth day record. As elder Adam Mcguiness performed a smoking ceremony to unveil the work Wedge Tailed Eagles circled above. True story.
